Which side of this picture represents your home’s air quality?

According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, about 25 million Americans have asthma and 60% of those are allergy related. 1.7 million emergency room visits and 10 million out patient visits each year are due to asthma related problems. Asthma costs almost 18 billion dollars each year.

According to Cleveland Clinic there are a variety of Asthma triggers to include:

  • Indoor allergens: animal dander, molds, dust mites, cockroaches
  • Weather: Changes to humidity, temperature and cold air
  • Strong emotions: Crying, laughing or yelling really hard and anxiety
  • Cigarette smoke
  • Infections: Colds, flu, viruses and sinus infections
  • Strong odors: Cleaning products, perfumes etc.

An air purifier is a great way to help reduce many of the allergens in your home that can trigger an asthma attack. There are many air purifiers on the market. If noise and space are a factor, you may want to consider an air purifier that is not visible and makes no noise.

We install the Air Knight system for residential or commercial use. The Air Knight Residential Air Purification System will reduce bacteria, odors, viruses, mold, smoke and VOC’s (chemical odors- from paint, cleaning products etc..) from your home. This home air purifier easily mounts onto your air conditioning and heating air ducts.

Inside of these air ducts is where most of these problems start but with the Air Knight Air Purifier, an advanced oxidation process is created. This process consists of: Hydro-peroxides, super oxide ions and hydroxide ions. All friendly oxidizers (they revert back to oxygen and hydrogen after the oxidation of the pollutant.

An asthma attack can be very uncomfortable, scary and dangerous. The key to living with asthma is to set up your environment to help avoid attacks and the Air Knight system can help remove many triggers from your home or business.

If you would like more information or to have an Air Knight air purifier installed contact RDS Air Conditioning.

Maintain good air quality in your home

Most people go about their daily routine without ever thinking about the quality of the air in their home.   According to the EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency), mold, dust mites, pet dander (skin flakes), droppings and body parts from cockroaches, rodents and other pests or insects, viruses, and bacteria are all sources of poor indoor air quality. Many of these biological contaminants are small enough to be inhaled.

Did you know that the saliva from your pet dries then can become airborne?  As much as you may love Fido or Fluffy, do you really want to breathe in their saliva?  Most of our homes contain some of these: Pollens, bacteria, virus’, odors, smoke and VOC’s (volatile organic compounds).  If these things are floating around in the air microscopically, we are inhaling them without even realizing the dangers.

These toxins can cause asthma, dizziness, watery eyes, shortness of breath, fever and even digestive problems to name a few.  Southwest Florida is warm most of the time which helps bacteria grow and thrive.  A central air system can become a breeding ground for all types of microbes.  So, what can you do to stay cool and maintain good indoor air quality?

There is an easy solution to help you breathe easier and not worry about what is floating around in the air in your home.  The Air Knight, an excellent home air purifier easily mounts onto your existing air conditioning and heating air ducts.  This air purifier works so well it will help keep your air germ free as well as household surfaces like tables and counters.

RDS Air Conditioning works hard to keep your air conditioner running at peak performance.  Check out all of our services.
